Objective
This is an extension of the EMPOWER project which delivered an integrated programme of primary research in Nigeria, Malawi and Rwanda which produced robust new qualitative and quantitative data. The main output of the project was the SHE CAN tool, web-based resource, assisting policymakers and transport providers to develop an evidence-based approach to addressing sexual harassment and personal security within public transport.
The extension project will further innovate the SHE CAN Tool, increase awareness of the tool through various dissemination programmes and increase the application of the tool in 10 African countries through national contact points.
