The Transport-Technology Research Innovation for International Development (T-TRIID) competition has launched today, 5 July 2018.
The competition will close on Thursday 16 August 2018.
As part of the Applied Research Programme in High Volume Transport (HVT) programme, this competition will fund short projects supporting innovative ideas that enable safer and more efficient transport in low-income countries in Africa and South Asia.
The T-TRIID competition provides funding up to £30,000 for 10 collaborative projects which show potential to address transport challenges in the following themes:
- long distance strategic road and rail
- urban transport
- low carbon transport
- gender, accessibility and inclusion (particularly the disabled) in HVT
The research programme supports individuals and organisations to identify and share innovative concepts and solutions to the challenges facing transport sector in Low Income Countries. T-TRIID is not about ideas but about making those ideas happen — Magdalena Leisten Johansson, DFID HVT Advisor
