Monday 4th March 2024 | 09.00 – 17.00 | Cape Town
African cities are the most rapidly growing in the world and they’re changing fast. This offers immense opportunities as well as challenges for transport systems to meet the needs of the people and the economic growth, alongside meeting the urgent progress needed to address climate change. The High Volume Transport Applied Research Programme (HVT), funded by UK Aid, undertakes research into sustainable transport development across Africa. We’re striving to put our research at the heart of change.
This one-day event highlights the latest HVT research including the role of data; developing climate resilient transport in African cities; inclusive transport and planning; and innovations for future change. Sessions include research briefings and panel discussions, as well as Q&A with transport experts and deep dives into examples of research being used in African cities.
This is a free to attend pre-conference event to the first African Transport Research Conference taking place in Cape Town from 5th – 7th March 2024.
This is a hybrid event.
